Nature-inspired landscapes creating a sense of calm and exploring the restorative power of the natural world”

A little bit more about me…..

To help you get to know me better, I’d love to share a little about my creative process. My work begins outdoors, in the garden and in nature, where I find endless inspiration in colour, texture and movement – as well as the changing seasons. Being outside, for me, is an essential part of my process – it’s where I slow down, observe and reconnect. This sense of calm naturally carries into my painting. In the studio, I work primarily with acrylics, building layers of paint and collage over time. I use a wide range of tools – roller sponges, kitchen sponges, spatulas, squeegee, twine, netting, kitchen foil, tissue paper, pipettes as well as brushes. I allow each painting to evolve organically rather than following a rigid plan. Much like a garden, my paintings develop through intuition, patience and experimentation. Through this process, I aim to translate the healing, restorative power of nature onto the canvas, creating work that invites a sense of calm, balance and quiet reflection.

I am fortunate to live in an area where I can visit the hills as well as woodlands and beaches. I also holiday in Scotland and have been lucky to spend time in some of our remote islands. Soaking up the spectacular sights and sounds.

I am also a book lover and I am never without a book ‘on the go’. I love to be transported to different times and places, to meet the character’s and have a view into the interplays between them. I have also been lucky enough to publish my own book in 2024. As well as feeling an enormous sense of achievement, I am really thrilled to see myself in print! In case you are interested, my book is called, The Garden Angel – Grow Your Passion for Gardening.
